Have a Wild Blast on Trash Day
Independent studio Off By One Games has officially revealed its debut title, Trash Day, a co-op adventure game starring a mischievous group of raccoons. The game is set to launch later this year, bringing a chaotic and humorous multiplayer experience where teamwork and creativity play a major role.
In Trash Day, players take control of a squad of raccoons on a physics-based journey home. Designed for up to four players online, the game focuses on scavenging trash and transporting it in a stolen shopping cart while navigating a variety of obstacles. Success depends on cooperation, as players must push and steer the cart together while dealing with hazards along the way.
The path home is anything but simple. Along the route, players can encounter animals and even humans who attempt to interfere with their plans. Working together, the raccoon team can distract threats, clear paths, and continue their messy mission.
The game’s physics system encourages experimentation. Players can use tools such as planks, bungee cords, and other improvised objects to launch or maneuver their cart through tricky terrain. These creative mechanics turn everyday junk into valuable equipment that helps the team progress.
Exploration is also a key part of the experience. Players can knock over trash cans, search dumpsters, and roam the wilderness to find useful items and collectible garbage. Beyond the chaos, the game embraces its playful theme by letting players climb, scurry around the environment, interact with friends, and even snack on discarded food.
Corey Davis, the co-founder of the studio, said: “We knew it would be impossible to follow up Rocket League, so we made a game about raccoons collecting garbage.”
