Alvios Games has officially revealed its next project, Roads & Riches: Traveling Merchant Simulator, a co-op adventure game that takes players into a fantasy world where they run a traveling shop across a vibrant, ever-changing landscape. Following the studio’s earlier success with Vellum, this new title continues the team’s focus on creative multiplayer experiences. However, this time the focus shifts to trade, exploration, and player-driven co-op strategy.
In Roads & Riches, players take control of a mobile merchant caravan, journeying through a wide range of regions filled with unique cultures, demands, and opportunities. The core loop revolves around acquiring valuable goods, including rare and legendary items, then selling them in the right locations to maximize profit. Each region has its own preferences, which adds a layer of planning to every trade decision.
Exploration plays a major role as well. From snowy peaks to dense forests, the world offers quests, hidden treasures, and new markets to discover. Along the way, players can build relationships with customers by offering quality goods, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and steadily growing their reputation.
Players will also get a ton of customization options. The caravan starts small, but you can expand it into a bustling traveling marketplace, with layout and presentation influencing customer interest. It’s not just about what you sell, but how you sell it.
A playable demo is expected this summer. Players can already sign up for its playtest sign-ups and wishlist the game on Steam. With its mix of co-op gameplay, trading mechanics, and world exploration, Roads & Riches looks like a fresh take on the merchant simulator genre.
