Pompeii: The Legacy will officially leave Early Access and launch its full 1.0 version on April 6, marking a major milestone for the historical city-builder. To celebrate the release, players can purchase the game at a 25% discount on Steam. The full version will also be available on GOG and the Epic Games Store.
Since its Early Access debut, the solo-developed project has received 52 updates and patches. Over the course of development, consistent iteration and community feedback helped shape and refine the experience.
“As a solo developer, I’m genuinely satisfied with the progress made during Early Access,” the developer shared. “Community feedback has played a crucial role in shaping the game.”
Throughout Early Access, development focused on building a strong and complete foundation. The team implemented nearly all planned buildings, with only one remaining structure still in production. Major UI panels and management systems are now complete, while performance improvements support larger cities more efficiently. The update cycle also balanced trade, economy, and progression systems, alongside visual polish, LOD enhancements, and expanded environmental details.
As launch approaches, the developer is finalizing a combat-related panel, completing combat mechanics, and polishing the storyline. The narrative is largely finished and currently undergoing testing and refinement.
Post-launch updates will introduce controller support, modding, and Steam Workshop integration, and Steam Deck optimization.
