Become the Best Pilot in Wild Blue Skies
Independent developer Chuhai Labs, led by veteran programmer Giles Goddard, has released the first playable demo of its classic-inspired on-rails shooter, Wild Blue Skies, as part of Steam Next Fest. Players can now get hands-on with the upcoming aerial adventure ahead of its full launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.

Wild Blue Skies delivers a modern take on the beloved on-rails shooters of the ’90s. It perfectly combines fast-paced arcade action with contemporary visuals and storytelling. Players step into the cockpit as Bowie Stray and lead the Blue Bombers through a variety of vibrant biomes. Each mission throws them into high-speed dogfights, cinematic set pieces, and intense boss encounters that test both reflexes and precision.
The game features intuitive, responsive controls that make it easy to jump in while offering enough depth for skilled players to master. Its anime-inspired art style brings the world to life, blending nostalgic energy with modern production values. The demo gives players a first look at the game’s refined pacing, dynamic combat, and colorful environments.
Beyond its core action, Wild Blue Skies includes a rewarding scoring system that encourages replayability. Players can earn ribbons and medals by pushing their performance on every run. Hidden missions and secret encounters add another layer of challenge as the Blue Bombers soar toward a climactic showdown against the formidable Grimclaw.
