Astro Burn Is Blasting Out of Early Access Later This Month

A Massive Wave of Content Is Coming to Astro Burn

Astro Burn is officially leaving Early Access on July 30, with developer Beyond The Pixels and publisher Pixel Doors confirming that the full 1.0 version will launch on Steam and GOG. After months of community-driven development, players will finally get to experience the complete version of the fast-paced, retro-inspired space shooter.

The announcement follows a successful Kickstarter campaign that exceeded 150% of its funding goal. Thanks to that support, fans can also look forward to a premium physical edition from 33 Games, featuring custom USB cartridges, cassette soundtrack releases, and collectible trading cards packed with in-game lore.

According to the developers, player feedback played a major role in shaping the final release. Suggestions gathered through Discord, TwitchCon, IGN Live, and Early Access helped refine gameplay while adding new content and quality-of-life improvements.

Version 1.0 will introduce the final two story chapters, allowing players to guide Astro and robotic companion AL through Levels 8 and 9 to conclude their adventure. The update also adds local competitive co-op across seven levels, new Speed Zones for speedrunners, enhanced weapon upgrades, and quirky additions like Cat TV Mode and a relaxing ASMR Mode.

Combat is also receiving a playful twist, with traditional bullets replaced by flying food treats. Players can rescue lost kittens for bonus points while taking on oversized bosses with snack-based firepower. The game also launches with Steam Deck Verified support and localization in eight additional languages, making it more accessible to players worldwide.

With its mix of arcade action, charming humor, and community-inspired features, Astro Burn’s 1.0 release looks set to deliver the definitive version fans have been waiting for.
