Blue Ridge Hunting Makes Its First Appearance at Six One Indie Showcase

Take a Look at Blue Ridge Hunting

Indie developer Jade Meadows has officially unveiled Blue Ridge Hunting, a cooperative horror game that delves into the chilling folklore of the Appalachian Mountains. The reveal came out during the Six One Indie Showcase, complete with a trailer that mixes eerie atmosphere with a nostalgic twist.

Blue Ridge Hunting invites players to explore vast open environments inspired by real locations throughout Appalachia. Whether alone or with up to four friends, players take on the role of cryptid hunters, gathering evidence and tracking down strange creatures drawn from local legend. The game features both a narrative-driven campaign, playable solo or in three-player co-op, and a freeplay mode for those who want to roam and hunt without restrictions.

The announcement trailer gives a taste of what’s in store, including a fictional in-game TV ad and a peek at the haunting landscapes. Players can even dial a real phone number teased in the trailer to uncover a hidden message.

Blending early 3D graphics with a retro PSX-inspired art style, this game aims for a moody, immersive experience. Communication is key, but it comes with risk: proximity voice chat and radios help teams stay coordinated, yet using them might alert nearby cryptids. Income from hunts can be used to buy new tools and equipment, adding a strategic layer to survival.

With unique monsters rooted in Appalachian lore and an original soundtrack influenced by dark bluegrass and ambient guitar, Blue Ridge Hunting promises a fresh take on multiplayer horror with a strong sense of place and folklore.
