Overwatch 2 Isn’t Nerfing Any Heroes
Overwatch 2 has been plagued with countless bugs since its launch. Many players have complained about its server queues and broken hero abilities. Some believe that some heroes are either overpowered or performing terribly. However, it has come to light that Blizzard has no plans of reworking or rebalancing any of them.
“Some heroes are performing better than others and there are differences across player skill levels,” Blizzard wrote. “We have been happy to see that no hero’s overall power level is far out of line with our goals.”
Apparently, all Overwatch 2 heroes on the roster have a win-rate between 45% and 55%. With that said, devs do not intend to implement “any immediate balance changes” based on what they are seeing so far. However, they did promise that they are going to adjust Zarya in Total Mayhem. This change will reportedly go live with the game’s next major patch that is due on October 25th.
Instead, the Overwatch 2 team is going to “make a series of balance changes for Season Two” that are in accordance with their design goal of ensuring balance to the game as a whole. “We will continue looking at hero performance and listening to player feedback prior to finalizing any specific changes to balance for Season Two,” they continued. “We want to share more about what we are seeing so far.”
Blizzard’s statement suggests that there will eventually be changes for Overwatch 2’s heroes. However, it would seem that they are holding anything off until Season Two. Still, it is worth noting that some of the game’s characters have been finely tuned in the previous installment.
As new Overwatch 2 players get the hang of the game, they will eventually understand heroes’ abilities. With that said, they will come across more information on what heroes are over or underpowered.
