Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Leaker Says Sequel Will Have a Second Map
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is already in the works. According to industry insider Tom Henderson, the upcoming game is going to have more than one map.
At the moment, there is no information on what this new map is going to contain. However, Henderson claims it will be much smaller than a standard Call of Duty: Warzone 2 setting. It seems that the new map will be pretty much like how Rebirth Island was a more condensed place than Verdansk.
“Sources have said that a second map for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is well into development,” he revealed. “But it is likely to release some time after Warzone 2 launches.”
Modern Warfare 2 is due for release on October 28th. With this date locked in, fans can expect to see a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 reveal some time in November at the earliest. If Henderson’s claims of the second map coming shortly after that are true, then fans can expect a 2023 launch. At the moment, the most popular speculation is that the sequel is launching between December 2022 and January 2023. Basically, the later Warzone 2 arrives, the later this reported second map is going to launch.
Devs have been pretty steady when it comes to rolling out updates for the Warzone franchise. In fact, the newest version has a reduced player count as well as fast travel. According to multiple reports, the sequel is going to feature a new style of interrogations that pretty much resemble Rainbow Six Siege. This suggests that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players can question a downed enemy.
It has also been previously reported that the upcoming sequel is being developed on an all-new engine. The same goes for Modern Warfare 2. Devs purposely did this simultaneous rebuilding to ensure a more seamless sharing of seasonal content.
