Elden Ring’s Network Test Boss Margit Was “Rebalanced” for Being Too Hard
Elden Ring’s Producer Yasuhiro Kitao has revealed that they decided to slightly rebalance Margit the Fell Omen. This decision came about after they took a look at the feedback from their network test players.
“We just want to make the game fun for many different types of players,” Kitao confirmed. “We do not intentionally try to make it easy, depending on the play style from one player to another.”
After they received feedback from Elden Ring network testers, they came to a conclusion that “it was simply a matter of rebalancing.” “There are some balancing work to be done before release,” he said. “It gave us a good idea of where to focus our attention for the main game.”
“We did not want to set out to make bosses harder for the sake of it,” he added. “Margit was just too hard for the network test, we believe.”
With that said, they decided to tweak Margit “on the high end.” “He does need some balancing for that early point in the game,” he continued. It is worth noting that FromSoftware did not nerf Margit completely into dust. They just tweaked the boss a little bit since Elden Ring players can theoretically run straight into him in 10 minutes into the game.
Elden Ring fans who want a more challenging gaming experience can will still have the chance to meet hidden bosses. These bosses will reportedly test their limits.
“In terms of bosses that are unessential and optional and hidden, there are some of these that we have deliberately increased the challenge for those players who want to seek out this kind of experience,” he continued. “Hopefully if you are that way inclined, you can seek out some really tough challenges hidden away in the world.”
