The First Frontier
More than 20 years ago, Square Enix (then known as Square) released SaGa Frontier, the seventh SaGa game in the series. It was the first in the series to be released on PlayStation and the first to reach a North American audience. Nostalgia may earn the game a special place in the hearts of Western gamers, who may be happy to hear that SaGa Frontier Remastered will be released next week on several platforms. However, it was almost about 23 years ago, so if you are not familiar with SaGa Frontier, you are forgiven. Make sure to check out the launch trailer though, if you are willing to be taken by this game.
There are several additional features that are being introduced in the remaster, but just take a look at the updated artwork for a second. From an age where character models and background environments were pixelated and were often left to be interpreted, these elements are now presented sharp and clear. The launch trailer also gives us a rundown on all the main characters; Red, Blue, T260G, Lute, Emilia, Asellus, Riki, and the brand new playable character Fuse.
If you skipped this title when it first came out or you were too young for it to catch your attention, now is as good a time as any to experience this classic. SaGa Frontier Remastered will be coming out on April 15th for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
