A Delayed Release
Cygames have uploaded a new trailer announcing that Granblue Fantasy will be released for PS4 on March 3rd in the west. This will be a relatively short delayed release as the game will be released next week in Japan.
The game looks very appealing so far to both casual and hardcore gamers alike. Although fighting games have been traditional difficult to approach for beginners, there will be a cooldown based system which will allow players to execute special moves with a single button. To encourage players to get better, by executing the move with a special command, the player will be rewarded with a shorter cooldown. Additionally, the story mode will not be a fighting game, but will rather be a side-scrolling beat-em-up that can be played in co-op. As Granblue is based off of a mobile game, I suspect many players may play it just for the story mode, something you rarely hear about in the world of fighting games.
Of course, it is being developed by none other than Arc System Works, with its gorgeous anime artstyle and clean animations that is as good as to watch as it is to play. Coming off of Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Xrd, both critically-acclaimed titles, their track record gives a lot to look forward to in Granblue Fantasy: Versus.
