EA CFO Blake Jorgensen Recently Confirmed Apex Legends Has At Least Another Decade Left in It
During a recent first quarter investor earnings call, EA’s Blake Jorgensen and Andrew Wilson revealed they have a decade-long plan for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale franchise Apex Legends. Jorgensen and Wilson agree that Apex Legends has tremendous potential to be added onto with post-launch content and ongoing events for gamers to engage in. Every season Apex Legends receives new content but EA is looking at other ways to add to what they consider a great gameplay experience with positive fan sentiments. Apex Legends is currently available for free on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
During the recent investors call, Andrew Wilson reassured everyone the Apex Legends community has 8-10 million active users on a weekly basis. Despite seeing numbers dip, EA is confident that with the addition of fresh content in seasons, events and other content drops Apex Legends will maintain relevance for a minimum of a decade. EA bases these expectations off of not only the user base and revenue Apex Legends has received so far but also because of the community feedback they receive and their ability to listen to what fans are saying. Just for context: some games turning a decade this year are Batman Arkham Asylum, Assassin’s Creed 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Minecraft and Borderlands.
