Considering the Last Game, Why Not?
Monolith Soft is the studio famous for developing the Xenoblade Chronicles games. They are about to start working on Legend of Zelda game according to their job postings. Monolith Soft is no stranger to the Legend of Zelda series. They made a couple of them, Skyward Sword and a little game called Breath of the Wild, you may have heard of it. Nintendo may have found something in Monolith Soft, after all Breath of the Wild is one of their most successful titles ever and has scored top marks across the board. They will certainly not easily deny Monolith Soft a chance to make another one.
Of course, making another Breath of the Wild would be nigh impossible. The departure it took from the series was both bold and welcomed, but what could Monolith Soft do to top it? What could they do to even match it? No one would dare stop them from trying though. The hours upon hours of exploring that most players still have available in Breath of the Wild make it daunt for any developer to succeed. Even if you do manage to “finish” it, there are more Zelda games in the pipeline than Monolith Soft’s next installment.
The GameBoy classic the Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is being remade for the modern era of Nintendo. A new crossover of Zelda and Crypt of the Necrodancer is coming as Cadence of Hyrule, as well. Cadence of Hyrule is coming out this Spring and Link’s Awakening is also coming out sometime this year. Obviously, no word on the new game, but keep your eyes peeled.
