Described as “An Insurance Adventure with Minimal Color”
Lucas Pope, creator of indie darling Papers Please, has released a new first person mystery adventure game with a slick 1-bit aesthetic.
Available today, Return of the Obra Dinn is about an insurance adjuster for the East India Trading Company sent to uncover the secrets of a long lost ship, the Obra Dinn, that’s recently washed into port. Players are equipped with a crew muster roll book and a “Memento Mortem,” a pocketwatch that allows them to see the last few moments of a dead person’s life.
Obra Dinn’s release was revealed in a trailer just last month, and the last we had heard about it before then was back in May. You can pick it up now over on Steam, HumbleBundle, or GOG. Let us know if you’ll be checking it out in the comments, and keep it locked to COGconnected for all the latest gaming news!
