Next Xbox Should Have a Better Game Line-Up According to Analyst
During Microsoft’s press conference at E3 this year the company announced some huge studio acquisitions including Playground Games and Ninja Theory . As a result many are wondering if we will see a better game lineup at launch and beyond for the next Xbox console. Michael Pachter, an industry analyst at Wedbush Securities, certainly thinks so.
At E3 2018 Phil Spencer reassured fans that Microsoft is committed to bringing back the Xbox brand in a big way, shown through their acquisition of some talented studios. As the move doubles the number of major studios including in Microsoft’s first-party lineup, it shows that they want to make their future generation console even better. Of course, we know that it’s one thing for Microsoft to make promises at this stage in the game, but to add to their credibility, it seems Michael Pachter, one of the leading analysts in the industry, agrees.
In fact, he says that Microsoft will indeed have a better lineup of games for the next Xbox system launch. In a recent interview with GamingBolt he stated, “Yes, I think the five new studios are intended to beef up their first party content for a next generation launch. I am not sure any of them is going to move the needle, but they’re all pretty solid developers, so Microsoft may have a good launch lineup.” In the same interview, Pachter also predicted that Microsoft could launch their new Xbox in 2020, though he said whenever they launch it, it will likely drop before Sony’s PS5.
Do you agree with Michael Pachter or do you think the next Xbox console will suffer similar delays to launch titles? When do you think the latest console will drop? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
