Boxed Copies of Earthfall Will Be Available for PS4 and Xbox One
Back in March, we received word of an all-new sci-fi co-op shooter that incorporates aliens. With the zombie scene overrun to hell and back, Earthfall could be the refresher that fans of horde mode have been searching for. And to make the game more accessible, Gearbox publishing has announced their partnership with Holospark.
For those who haven’t caught our previous coverage, Earthfall is next in line in the realm of team-shooters. The game deals with up to four players pitted against swarms of aliens in the Pacific Northwest. Survivors in a post-apocalyptic alien wasteland must use the resources at their disposal to craft weapons, build defenses, and stave off relentless waves of aliens big and small. Understandably, you can liken it to Left 4 Dead… but with aliens.
Gearbox will assist independent game studio Holospark in distributing the game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The co-operative shooter will be available digitally and in the form of boxed retail copies available for $29.99. Furthermore, thanks to the partnership with Gearbox, the game will arrive in the form of a special Deluxe Editon copy. According to a press release, $39.99 gets players bonus biohazard suits and weapon skins.
“We are excited to bring Earthfall to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 13. By partnering with Gearbox Publishing on a physical release, even more fans will be able to get their hands on Earthfall on launch day,” said Russell Williams, CEO of Holospark. “We’ve been hard at work on Earthfall since it first launched in Early Access last year, and we’re really proud of what the game has become. Our thanks to everyone that played Earthfall and shared their feedback, whether that was on Steam or in-person. You’ve helped make the game what is it today.”
“We are excited to be working with Holospark’s talented group of veteran developers to bring the amazing co-op experience of Earthfall to retail this summer,” added Steve Gibson, head of Gearbox Publishing
Find Earthfall digitally and at retail stores on July 13th. At launch, there will be a total of ten missions across two campaigns. If you wish to learn more about the co-op experience, feel free to check out our preview. Until more information comes our way,
Happy gaming.
