Assemble Your Squad in Codename CURE II
Zombie fans have something new to dive into as Codename CURE II officially launches as a free-to-play title on Steam. Developed by Raptor Byte and published by indie.io, the co-op first-person shooter drops squads of up to five players into a post-apocalyptic world where survival depends on teamwork, strategy, and plenty of firepower.
Unlike the original game, Codename CURE II features procedurally generated maps, ensuring every mission feels different. An advanced gore system with dynamic dismemberment, body deformation, and realistic damage effects makes every encounter with the infected feel more intense, with fire visibly burning away enemies’ clothing and flesh.
Players will face standard infected, zombie soldiers, and fast-moving Zogs that quickly close the distance. Missions can also take an unexpected turn when The Disciple, a powerful roaming boss, appears at a random location. Squads can fight the boss or try to avoid it, although the map may leave them with little choice.
Between deployments, players return to CURE HQ to customize loadouts, unlock equipment, and prepare for the next mission. The game features five playable classes, such as Pointman, Support, Assault, Technician, and Sniper, each with its own weapons and attachments.
Launching alongside the game is the Combat Specialist Pack, priced at $9.99 with a 20% introductory discount. The DLC adds new firearms, weapon attachments, ballistic masks, and military-themed cosmetics to expand players’ arsenals from day one.
The original Codename CURE attracted more than 2.5 million players and earned a Very Positive rating on Steam with over 16,000 user reviews. With upgraded visuals, deeper gameplay systems, and greater replayability, Codename CURE II aims to build on that success while delivering a fresh cooperative zombie experience.
