Mayday: The Survival Island Launches on Steam With 20% Limited-Time Discount

Enter a Mysterious Archipelago in Mayday: The Survival Island

Surviving on a deserted island is tough enough, but Mayday: The Survival Island wants players to do more than just stay alive. Developer Pequi Studios and publisher indie.io have officially launched their hand-drawn survival adventure on Steam, where players can pick it up for $13.99, with a limited-time 20% launch discount.

The game drops players onto a mysterious archipelago following a plane crash, leaving them with little more than whatever resources they can find. Survival starts with hunting, fishing, gathering materials, and building a shelter. However, there’s plenty more to keep players busy, including growing crops, raising animals, cooking meals, and unlocking new tools and recipes through crafting stations. Players can even brew potions using ingredients collected across the islands.

What makes Mayday stand out is its Comfort system, which gives home decoration a surprisingly practical purpose. Players can furnish their shelters with tables, chairs, rugs, vases, and other decorative items to improve their Comfort level. A well-decorated home doesn’t just look good; it also provides useful survival bonuses, including extra health and slower energy consumption.

Exploration is another big part of the experience. The archipelago features 24 handcrafted islands, each offering different resources, environments, and secrets. From misty swamps and beaches to forgotten cemeteries and ancient ruins, there’s plenty to discover as players uncover clues about the island’s mysterious past.

With its mix of survival, exploration, crafting, and meaningful home-building, Mayday: The Survival Island offers an interesting twist on the genre. After all, staying alive is one thing, but having a comfortable place to return to makes the adventure a little sweeter.
