Join the Action in Mad Metal
Mad Metal, the explosive vehicle combat shooter from indie developer Hakim Elayday, is now available on Steam. The game puts players behind the wheel of heavily armed vehicles and lets them slow down time to pick apart enemy cars one component at a time.
Inspired by games and films such as Mad Max, Twisted Metal, and Interstate ’76, Mad Metal has been in development for more than two years. Its main feature, Dead Aim, gives players the ability to slow time during high-speed chases and carefully decide what part of an enemy vehicle to destroy.
Want to stop an enemy in its tracks? Shoot its wheel. Looking for a bigger explosion? Target the fuel tank. Every vehicle has individual components, turning each encounter into a tactical decision rather than simply a race to see who can deal the most damage.
The game also offers several multiplayer modes. Extraction pits two players against increasingly difficult enemy waves before a boss fight and an airlift. Open-world invasion lets players enter another player’s game, while Deathmatch focuses on straightforward 1v1 battles. Ranked and unranked MMR matchmaking is also available.
Alongside the multiplayer action, it also features an eight-mission voiced campaign following Jack as he searches for his missing daughter in a post-apocalyptic America. The game also features a reactive soundtrack that changes as vehicles take damage.
Mad Metal is now available on Steam for $14.99, with a 20% launch discount. For fans of chaotic car combat, it looks like a fun ride worth taking for a spin.
