Add Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered to Your Shelves
Crystal Dynamics and co-developer PlayEveryWare have announced physical editions of Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered, giving fans another way to experience the classic dark fantasy adventure. The remastered title will launch physically on November 13, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One
Published and distributed by PLAION, the physical release will be available in Standard and Deluxe Editions, with pre-orders now open at participating retailers.
The Standard Edition will cost $29.99/€29.99. Meanwhile, the $49.99/€49.99 Deluxe Edition comes packed with several extras. Alongside the game, players will receive a SteelBook case, the official soundtrack on physical CD, and an art book featuring more than 80 pages of sketches, concept art, models, and other artwork. The game itself also includes a digital comic book reader with three classic comics and a demo for the previously unreleased sixth entry, Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy.
Originally released in 2003, Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered brings the story of Kain and Raziel back with upgraded visuals, an improved camera, photo mode, and restored “lost levels.” Players can once again explore Nosgoth while controlling both characters as their intertwined stories unfold around the themes of fate and free will.
The remaster is also available digitally on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
For longtime fans, the Deluxe Edition looks like a particularly appealing way to revisit Nosgoth, especially with its collection of physical goodies and archival content.
