City States: Medieval Officially Launches Its Full Verion on Steam

Build Your Own Empire in City States: Medieval

Reverie World Studios and indie.io have officially launched City States: Medieval in its full 1.0 version for PC via Steam, bringing together city-building, grand strategy, and large-scale real-time siege battles in a single medieval experience.

Set during the 12th century, the game puts players in charge of a small merchant republic surrounded by powerful kingdoms. Starting with a single city, players must grow their economy through trade, dealing in valuable goods such as wool, linen, silk, and spices across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. As wealth increases, so does the attention of rival powers, making strong defenses and tactical warfare essential for survival.

The full release introduces several notable improvements following months of Early Access updates. One of the biggest changes expands the hero system, allowing any army to defend cities during real-time battles instead of relying solely on heroes. This gives players greater flexibility when protecting distant settlements while their leaders command campaigns elsewhere. The updated Call to Arms and lord management systems also make controlling military forces more efficient throughout the campaign.

Version 1.0 also delivers improved world map performance, upgraded visuals, a redesigned tutorial for new players, and extensive balancing across trade, research, and the in-game economy. These refinements aim to make long-term city management and strategic decision-making more rewarding than ever.

Players who want to try the game before purchasing can download a free demo featuring roughly 90 minutes of the prologue campaign. It includes access to many of the core systems, including city-building, trade, world map exploration, and real-time combat.

City States: Medieval is now available on PC for $19.99, with a limited-time 20% launch discount. If you’re looking for a strategy game that blends economic management with intense medieval warfare, this is one worth keeping an eye on.
