AI.VI Came Out of Retirement Today on Steam

Fight the Megacorporation as AI.VI

Developer Out of Time and publisher indie.io have officially launched AI.VI on PC via Steam today. It’s a fast-paced hybrid of first-person shooting and tower defense that will hit the spot for fans of these genres. The game places players inside the reinforced chassis of AI.VI. He is a retired war machine living a quiet life on the desert moon Sohot.

What begins as a peaceful routine mining batteries quickly spirals into chaos when the ruthless P.A.S.C.A.L. Gigacorporation launches a full-scale takeover. Known for prioritizing profit above all else, the corporation attempts to enforce what it calls an “entirely voluntary merger” by sending endless waves of combat robots.

Unluckily for them, Sohot is home to a battle-hardened machine built to endure overwhelming odds. Armed with a versatile pickbow, a wide range of experimental weapons, and aided by a group of rebellious workerbots, AI.VI stands ready to push back against the invasion.

The gameplay blends high-speed shooting with strategic defense. Players can dismantle enemies through melee combat, ranged firepower, or by deploying traps and automated systems that turn hostile machines into scrap. Combat depth is further enhanced by four elemental forces. These include fire, ice, acid, and electricity, which can be combined to trigger powerful chain reactions.

Preparation plays a central role, with players customizing loadouts before missions and adapting during battles using temporary upgrades. Permanent enhancements unlock stronger attacks, improved defenses, protective shields, and unique abilities.

With relentless enemy waves descending on Sohot, AI.VI’s retirement has officially come to an end.
