Beatrix Descends Into Hell With the Release of Steam Demo

Enter the Shifting Battlefield in Beatrix

Indie developer and publisher Tambù Digital has officially released the first playable demo for its upcoming roguelite board-builder Beatrix, now available on PC via Steam. The full game is scheduled to launch later in 2026, offering a dark, stylised strategy experience where positioning and careful planning shape every outcome.

Beatrix reimagines traditional deckbuilding by introducing a board-wide tactical system set on a shifting battlefield. Players step into the role of the mysterious Beatrix, descending through the Circles of Hell to investigate a decaying anomaly threatening the Abyss. Combat revolves around strategic placement and the use of “Canons”. These are powerful effects that alter the rules of the grid, allowing players to reshape encounters.

The newly released demo focuses on Limbo, the first Circle of Hell. Here, players will experience the game’s tarot-based combat mechanics and its grim narrative. Along the way, players face distorted enemies native to Limbo before taking on Charon, the Custos Limbi, in a climactic boss fight.

The demo includes a solid slice of content, featuring 35 Canons that modify the battlefield. There are also 22 Major Arcana tarot cards and 15 relics with unique abilities. Players will also encounter three enemy types, two elite variants, and three narrative events that influence progression.

This early version highlights Beatrix’s blend of tactical board control, evolving deck systems, and its eerie underworld setting. The demo promises to offer a strong glimpse into what lies deeper within its haunting world. So, what are you waiting for? Dive into it right now and get a first-hand experience of Beatrix.
