Take a Look at the Dark Fantasy World of VANRAN
Independent studio BECUZUS has released the first global debut gameplay trailer for its dark fantasy action RPG, VANRAN. Unlike the earlier cinematic teaser, this new trailer focuses entirely on real in-game footage, highlighting real-time combat, large-scale boss encounters, and the core systems that define the experience.
Following showings at events such as ChinaJoy and Gamescom, VANRAN has already gained attention for its massive bosses, fast movement, and signature Chain system. This system allows seamless traversal and combat, creating a constant sense of flow. Storytelling is woven directly into gameplay rather than delivered through separate cutscenes. Exploration plays a key role, with player actions affecting enemy behavior and triggering events that move the narrative forward.
Combat emphasizes momentum and aggression, encouraging players to stay active through parries, guard breaks, and flexible chain transitions. Each encounter is designed to feel intense and reactive.
Set in a corrupted underworld, VANRAN follows Kaleb, a lone warrior searching for truth and redemption amid demonic forces. Inspired by myths such as Orpheus and Eurydice and works like Dante’s Divine Comedy, the story focuses on emotional depth and meaningful player choice. Decisions influence progression, unlock hidden paths, and shape the game’s conclusion, with no single fixed ending.
Technically, VANRAN uses BECUZUS’s hybrid optimization engine and advanced AI systems. Enemies coordinate tactics in real time, while large bosses like Titan feature complex mountable mechanics and adaptive animations.
Designed to welcome newcomers while challenging experienced players, VANRAN will launch a global Steam demo featuring Chapter 1. The full release is planned for PC and consoles in December 2026. However, the studio has not revealed which consoles the game will arrive on. So, stay tuned for more updates in the future.
