Adventure Awaits in AWAYSIS
Publisher CULT and developer 17 BIT have announced that AWAYSIS will launch Day One on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The announcement about this upcoming physics-based brawler came out during the ID@Xbox Fall 2025 Showcase.
Set on a sunlit floating temple under siege by dark forces, AWAYSIS blends the charm of classic 1990s JRPGs with the power of Unreal Engine 5. Designed for one to four players, it promises fast-paced co-op chaos across ever-changing battlegrounds. The latest trailer highlights its energetic combat and vibrant, surreal environments, teasing a game that thrives on spontaneity and laughter.
At the heart of AWAYSIS lies its physics-driven combat and movement system. Each encounter is unscripted, letting players jump, slide, and crash into enemies, objects, or even their teammates. The result is a dynamic playground where every fight unfolds differently, balancing slapstick mayhem with precise control. Whether players are working together or clashing in competitive mode, each moment delivers fresh, unpredictable action.
This intensity is paired with a lighthearted story filled with wild twists and bizarre arenas packed with hazards and half pipes. Furthermore, the game’s distinctive visual identity comes from an all-star creative team. This includes artist Satoshi Matsuura (Mother 3, Legend of Mana), environment designer Alexandre Diboine (Disney’s Amphibia, The Owl House), and legendary composer Hip Tanaka (Metroid, EarthBound), who provides an original score.
According to the developers, AWAYSIS aims to redefine the co-op brawler by merging fluid, physics-based mechanics with expressive movement and humor. It promises to offer an experience that feels fresh, tactile, and endlessly replayable.
