12 More Leaders Are Coming to Civilization 6
Civilization 6 devs have confirmed that a new season pass is going to add a dozen leaders to the game. Plus, there will also be six “new takes” on already existing ones. This announcement from 2K Games actually comes over a year after the anthology came out. Critics called it a “complete Civilization 6 experience all in one bundle.”
“The Leader Pass encourages you to break out of your comfort zone with new approaches to diplomacy, war, expansion, and more,” devs said. “Each leader arrives with a suite of surprising new or updated abilities alongside inventive new agendas that will change the way you play over five exciting months of world domination.”
Just like the previous season passes in the franchise, the upcoming one will be out across six separate DLC packs. The first one will be the Great Negotiators Pack. This particular Civilization 6 DLC is adding Abraham Lincoln for the United States, Sultan Saladin for Saudi Arabia, and Queen Nzinga Mbande for Kongo. All of these new leaders are coming to the game on November 21st.
Unfortunately, devs did not divulge the price for the Leaders Pass. They did not provide official release dates for each DLC pack either. However, it is worth noting that they did confirm everything will be available between November and March 2023.
Thankfully, devs reassured Civilization 6 fans that they will automatically get all DLC content at no extra cost if they already own the Anthology. However, their fans do have some questions. They want to know why they suddenly decided to drop a new season pass. After all, it has been more than a year after they finished the game.
“Similar to New Frontier Pass, Leader Pass was not part of the original scope for Civilization 6,” devs stated. “We decided to create the Leader Pass after we saw the incredible response fans had for New Frontier Pass and their wishes for more Leaders to be added.”
