Skull and Bones Has Been Delayed Again
Skull and Bones seemingly cannot catch a break. Ubisoft just announced to the gaming public that they have decided to delay the game’s launch for the fifth time. The pirate game’s previous schedule for release was this November.
Devs pushed the new schedule for Skull and Bones to 2023. This has caused fans to have some concerns regarding the game’s fate. Unfortunately, Ubisoft did not provide any explanation as to why they decided to push its release further.
“Our team is hard at work polishing and balancing the experience ahead of the worldwide launch,” devs wrote in their press release. “As a result, we have made the tough decision to move our release date to March 9, 2023.”
Devs first revealed Skull and Bones at E3 2017. At the time, they informed the gaming public that the game will be out by 2018. Through the years, devs have already delayed its launch multiple times. Fans even saw its planned gameplay gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. Apparently, they had to shift their focus from ship-to-ship combat to crafting and survival mechanics.
“We are very eager for you all to get your hands on Skull and Bones and dive in headfirst to the dangerous and exciting world of building your own pirate empire,” devs continued. “To give you the best possible experience we have decided to take a little more time to make sure we can deliver exactly that.”
The press release also mentions an upcoming open beta for Skull and Bones. However, devs did not provide any details on how and when players can sign up for it.
“We will share more news on how you can sign up to register soon,” they added. “So keep your spyglasses trained on our social media for more news and announcements.”
