Dark Souls 3 Servers Are Down Again
Dark Souls 3 PC servers are offline again. The game’s PvP servers went dark for approximately seven months. It was only last month that devs managed to bring back them back online. Unfortunately, the fun did not last for long. Now, just a month later, devs took them back down again.
Fan complaints about the Dark Souls 3 servers being taken down again first appeared on Steam yesterday. Multiple players complained that they could not connect to the servers. Others had it much worse and could not even log into the game at all.
The onset of the issues appeared all of a sudden without warning. They quickly spread throughout the entire game. There was no immediate indication about what had happened. In fact, the most recent announcement from the devs that had anything to do with Dark Souls 3 was dated in August. Funnily enough, it was also about the reactivation of the servers.
“Here we go again,” a fan wrote. “See you in eight months guys.”
“You have got to be kidding me, the PC side from FromSoft is an absolute clown show,” another fan stated. “They really do not give a rat’s ass about their PC crowd do they?”
A rep from FromSoftware as acknowledged the complaints and have promised to fans that the matter is being investigated.
“At this time, there is a confirmed issue with Dark Souls 3 online play via the Steam platform,” the devs said. “We are investigating the source of the problem and will inform you as soon as more details become available.” It certainly seems that players can expect another extended wait coming.
Dark Souls 3 PC servers went offline back in January due to a security vulnerability. This issue enabled malicious code to run through the players’ online functionality. Devs were not able to fix this problem right away since their priority was Elden Ring.
