Splatoon 3 Demo Is Live Right Now
The much-awaited Splatoon 3 demo is live right now. Fans of the game can try out the Splatfest World Premiere demo ahead of the online event that is due to run this weekend. It kicks off on August 27th and will provide fans a sneak peek of what it will offer ahead of its full launch in September.
It is only at its full launch that Splatoon 3 players will be able to enjoy the demo’s features. Still, its early availability is a good way to give its community an early look at what is coming.
The Splatoon 3 demo opens in the desert. At this point, players will have to choose a character and pick a style for their Smallfry companion. They will then get access to a brief tutorial mission that runs them through the game’s basic controls, such as the new Squid Surge.
Players can roam around and freely explore Splatsville and its shops. However, they cannot participate in the online battles. This means that they cannot actually level up to unlock access for buying things in the stores. The good news is that they can choose what side they want to be on in the rock, paper, scissors Splatfest. Plus, they can also choose what outfits they want to wear and make changes to their player banner.
Unfortunately, the demo does not provide access to the game’s test range. With that said, Splatoon 3 players will have to wait until the weekend before they can begin practicing with all the weapons.
In other news, multiple sources have reported that Splatoon 3’s Shiver may be Nintendo’s first ever major non-binary character. Devs purposely avoided gender-specific language across multiple localized versions of the upcoming game’s footages.
