Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Introduces New Class Option
Warhammer 40000: Darktide is following the suit of the Vermintide series. Just like the other titles featured in the franchise, it will be a four-player co-op game that lets players choose their own thematically appropriate class. A recently released trailer revealed two series veterans, a zealot, and an ogryn. It was confirmed in a report that soon, players will also be getting the psyker class option.
Psykers have the ability to reach into the parallel universe by merely using their minds. They can draw on this power to essentially do their magic. If they do decide to overuse their power to pop the heads of the enemies, they will succumb to the perils of the Warp and explode.
However, it is worth noting that utilizing this ability is a bit risky. After all, the Warp is where Chaos comes from. Warhammer 40000: Darktide’s Chaos is actually one of the game’s malevolent forces. The Inquisition will then hunt rogue psykers before they are able to do a lot of damage. Plus, the strongest among them will also be recruited to be part of the Sanctioned Psykers.
Still, there is a good side to this ability. Psykers can also use their powers to protect against incoming ranged attacks. Warhammer 40000: Darktide fans may already be aware that every class featured in the game already have a shield that is quite similar. The veterans are protected by armor, the ogryns by sheer thickness, and the zealots by the power of faith. All of these aforementioned shield-type features encourage players to group up with the rest of the team. Apparently, being in close proximity with others makes the recharging process go faster.
Warhammer 40000: Darktide is due for launch on September 13th. It will be available on Steam and GamePass on day one.
