Loki Is a ‘Whimsical Pop-Apocalyptic Fantasy’ MOBA

Loki Is a New MOBA-Inspired Title From League of Legends Devs

Loki is an upcoming MOBA-inspired team-based competitive game from Theorycraft Games. The studio is primarily made up of devs who worked on some of the popular titles in the gaming market today. Examples of which are Destiny, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Valorant.

Very little is know about the game at this point in time. Fortunately for fans, devs recently shared their first concept art for the “whimsical pop-apocalyptic fantasy” title.

The four pieces of art show a world that seems to already be similar to a top-down MOBA map. The images show a world that is already complete with lanes that slice through each of the zones. One of the images show a splintered purple tower that sits on top of a platform looking like a home base. It looks like Loki players will have to protect it in the last fight of a match.

The entire thing is right on top of a chunk of land that floats in the sky. This seems to be the main location of the game. There are also some magical-looking fountains close by.

Another piece of concept art shows a dark scene that has a neon sign glowing right in the middle. There is an unidentified character sitting at a storefront from under the shadows. Fans are expecting the game to have a genre-bending world with a long list of characters to match. This feature is pretty much similar with that of LoL.

In today’s Loki announcement, the studio confirmed to the gaming public that they picked up Legends of Runeterra Game Director Andrew Yip and Arcane Art Supervisor Kevin Le Moigne.

“We are combining our professional strengths and personal loves for different games to forge something entirely new with Loki,” CEO Joe Tung said. “Andrew’s knowledge of deep gameplay systems and Kevin’s ability to bring fantastical worlds to life will further our mission to make Loki the rewarding imaginative experience that we have envisioned since its inception.”
