Gotham Knights: Nightwing and Redhood Gameplay Finally Revealed

Nightwing and Redhood Taking on the Mantle

WB Montreal has finally revealed more Gameplay footage from their upcoming Gotham Knights game, the gameplay footage is focused around Nightwing and Redhood and it shows off some of their movesets and abilities.

Nightwing and Redhood

Compared to Batman’s gliding to get around the city using his cape, Nightwing will instead glide around the city using a Flying Trapeze. Redhood on the other hand will use a power called the Mystical Leap which he has gained after being resurrected by the League of Assassins using the infamous Lazarus pit.

The momentum bar will be something players will need to get used to. It’s at the bottom right of the screen and it builds up with every successful attack and dodge the player performs, and when it is filled up, players will have the chance to use one of their character’s abilities to land a more powerful blow to their enemies like Redhood’s Barrage ability shown off in the new gameplay demo.

The gameplay demo also reveals the new workbench at the Belfry headquarters. Players there will have the option to upgrade their equipment to better their chances against Gotham’s villains and will also alter the appearance of their character. Players will have to gather new blueprints as well as crafting materials by completing missions and fighting crime in order to have more options when upgrading their equipment.

Three other important things we have learned from this Gotham Knights gameplay demo. The enemies’ health bar that was shown off in earlier gameplay of the game is now gone after fans’ backlash. Redhood bullets are in fact non lethal in this game but will still be strong and decisive. Finally, it is now official that both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are canceled, a year and a half after the release of the new next-gen consoles.

For Batman and Gotham City fans that can’t wait to know more about the game ahead of its release later this year, Gotham Knights is expected to make an appearance at this year’s Summer Game Fest which will air online as well as select IMAX theaters on June 9, 2022.

Gotham Knights is now set to release on October 25, 2022, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
