Apex Legends Reaches Its $2 Billion Milestone

Apex Legends Reached $2 Billion in Only 3 Years

Apex Legends is one of the most successful team hero shooters in the gaming market today. The battle royale game hugely impressed players and critics alike after it reached its $2 billion milestone in lifetime net bookings. The game has managed to stay at the top while constantly getting new characters and content in the past few years.

The figure comes from EA’s most recent fiscal earnings report. “Apex Legends is up over 40% for the year,” the report read. “Taking it past the $2 billion milestone in lifetime net bookings.” The page also announced that the game’s previous season is its “most successful ever.” However, devs did not provide any specific numbers to back up this claim.

Devs launched Apex Legends in February of 2019. This is perhaps what impressed fans the most. Apex Legends reached $2 billion in only a matter of three years. Fans are expecting this number to increase as the franchise’s universe continues to grow. In fact, the earnings report also mentioned Apex Legends Mobile as one of EA’s “three key drivers of mobile growth.” The mobile game is launching on both iOS and Android devices on May 17th.

Although everyone was impressed with how well Apex Legends succeeded in the market, no one was particularly surprised. Every new season brings a battle pass that comes with new cosmetics and other content. Players can get the pass by getting enough in-game currency through challenges. However, many  fans are willing to fork over real money whenever devs drop a new season.

There are several big differences between the main game and the mobile one. Still, the latter is a potential moneymaker for EA, considering that mobile gamers will want to pony up real-world cash to get the exclusive skins.
