The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Reaches Its 500,000 Sold Copies Milestone
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has surpassed 500,000 copies sold on a global level. Capcom made the official announcement on social media.
“Yes! The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide!” devs wrote. “Thank you to all of our passionate fans who have made this game a great success!”
The game is actually a remaster of Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve. Devs launched both on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Their Nintendo 3DS versions also launched exclusively in Japan.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is the franchise’s second collection that devs released on modern hardware. They first released the Ace Attorney Trilogy which included the series’ first three titles in February of 2019. The first collection also got to sell 1.4 million copies sold worldwide.
Because of the excellent sales performance of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Capcom may decide to come up with yet another collection. Fans are hopeful that it will include the Investigations titles. The Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth came out for the Nintendo DS back in 2009. Sadly, however, its sequel Ace Attorney Investigations 2 never localized to the West.
Having sold more than 500,000 units is definitely a milestone for a visual novel adventure game. With that said, fans are hoping that the series will continue to find success in today’s gaming market.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles depicts hero Ryunosuke Naruhodo, alongside supporting characters Kazuma Asogi, Susato Mikotoba, and Herlock Sholmes. Together, they will navigate the tricky legal systems of Meiji-era Japan and Victorian Britain.
Capcom says that their “passionate fans” are what motivated them to come up with such successful installments for the series. Gamers all over the world love the franchise because of its beautiful visuals and animation, excellent soundtrack, and gripping narratives.
