Halo Infinite Multiplayer Has ‘No Plans’ for Cortana & Elites Right Now

Halo Infinite MP Won’t Have Cortana or Playable Elites for Now

Halo Infinite devs have just confirmed that they have “no current plans” for Cortana and playable Elites in the game’s multiplayer mode. Fans were ecstatic after 343 Industries revealed their road map for the game’s Season 2. Multiple players have long been waiting for certain character additions to multiplayer. Sadly, however, they were out of luck.

As much as I love Cortana, there are no current plans to make Cortana an AI in multiplayer,” Head of Creative Joseph Staten wrote on social media. Unfortunately for Halo Infinite fans, the devs said the same thing about playable Elites.

We may eventually get playable Elites,” said Community Director Brian Jarrard. “But, sorry to say, it is not a current priority or actively being worked on right now.”

These responses from Halo Infinite devs cannot be more cut and dry. Basically, they are telling fans that neither of these multiplayer additions are in the works at this time. However, it does not immediately mean that there is absolutely no possibility for them to change their mind in the future. Still, the simple “no” upset many members of their community.

I feel like I am bashing my head against a wall and yelling into an open void!” an angry fan wrote. ”I and a large portion of this community feels abandoned, angry, isolated, neglected and disheartened due to the lack of playable Elites!”

“I applaud your passion and gusto!” Jarrard directly answered. “But I will give it to you straight, we have a lot of fundamental issues to go after.”

We know we need to deliver more content and more features more quickly,” Staten said. “Staying true to priority zero means that sometimes we need to slow down in order to stay healthy and move faster later.”
