Composer Will Write Two Tracks for Game
Mina the Hollower has done very well on Kickstarter; the next game from the Yacht Club Games looks as if it will be a great game, overall.
And it’s only gotten better, from the latest news. While there’s news that Jake Kaufman will be composing most of the tracks for the game, Yuzo Koshiro has been added to the Mina roster. Koshiro, who has written music for Streets of Rage and Etrian Odyssey, as well as founding Ancient Corp.
Koshiro had also written the original 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog, back in 1991. And, from all accounts, he appears to be very excited with this new project moving forward, and even released a short video clip on the Yacht Club Game’s Twitter account to speak of his future collaboration.
If you were to ask your favorite game musician who their favorite artists are, chances are, you'd hear @YuzoKoshiro over & over again. He’s a living legend and we’re beyond humbled to announce he's contributing two tracks to #MinaTheHollower.

It’s a very short video, which says that he is “very excited” to be working with the team, and particularly Kaufman in making the future soundtracks. And with having Mina the Hollower fully funded, and having Koshiro join them seems like icing on the cake.
But there does appear to be more, as evidenced by their update on Kickstarter. While there are still a little more than 12 hours to go for the Kickstarter, Yacht Club has started to pull out some of the goodies. Some being a lot. This is not a mini-game nor is it a preview soundtrack, but instead, Yacht Club has decided to give a Treasure Trove to fans.
The Treasure Trove (which is what they’re calling it, not just a fun pun), holds about gigabytes worth of art of Shovel Knight. As in, most of it is pixel art, and it is seven years’ worth of art for Shovel Knight. And that includes animations, backgrounds, menus, and a heck of a lot more- and all of it is under the Creative Commons license and there may even be some upcoming content hidden within the folder.
Music and art- it sounds like Yacht Club Games is coming out with a lot of great things. We can’t wait to see more of Mina the Hollower!
