Abandoned Devs Respond to Cancellation Rumors
Abandoned is not being cancelled. Rumors that Blue Box Game Studios decided to cancel the game are making their rounds on the Internet. Thankfully for fans who have been in wait for some time now, devs took to social media to squash false reports.
“In regards to the latest rumors regarding Abandoned being cancelled,” Blue Box wrote. “Our response to this is that these rumors are false.”
Reports about Abandoned not seeing the light of day first came out after eagle-eyed fans noticed devs discreetly deleting social media updates about their future plans for the game. These now-deleted posts were reportedly about a playable demo that fans could access at some point. Apparently, devs thought that enough time had passed that their erasures would go unnoticed.
“Blue Box Game Studios have now deleted most tweets that described specific future plans for their game Abandoned,” a fan wrote. “Three months ago they said there would be a playable demo ‘soon.’”
“We have been bombarded with requests and questions regarding the development status for Abandoned,” devs added. Fortunately, they did not delete their plans for the first quarter of this year. With that said, it remains unclear why they decided to delete certain posts. Fans have started to speculate that devs did this to set the record straight about what they can look forward to when it comes to the upcoming project.
Abandoned is Blue Box’s upcoming survival horror game. This is all that its following knows at this point in time. Beyond the title’s genre, devs have neither detailed nor demonstrated anything.
“We are not ready yet as we underestimated our development road map,” devs continued. “Therefore, we have delayed the reveal and the release for Abandoned: Prologue.”
“We will release Abandoned: Prologue when it is stable, good and ready,” they promised.
