Crytek Announces Crysis 4 With Teaser Video

Some Long Awaited News

Almost a decade after the release of Crysis 3, fans of the series are getting some news on the much awaited fourth installment. This morning, Developer Crytek announced the confirmation of Crysis 4 on Twitter. A short teaser video, alongside written confirmation, tells fans all that they need to know.

Arriving into the gaming world in 2013, the first person shooter, Crysis 3 was met with acclaim. An 8.5 rating on IGN and a 76% on Metacritic speak to the quality, both graphical and gameplay wise, of the game. However, with nine years since the last release the announcement of Crysis 4 comes as a surprise.

The teaser trailer doesn’t tell fans much. It shows images of space, and explosions. A collapsing city, and fibers tying themselves together. Yet the most important part of the teaser is the end, where the 4 appears. In not even a minute of length, Crytek has given fans of the series what they have been hoping for.

For now, it seems Crysis 4 is a working title. Or at least that would reinforce the idea that Crytek CEO, Cevat Yerli, established in a 2012 interview with EuroGamer. Specifically he explained that “I wouldn’t name it Crysis 4 at this stage because it would be misleading… We want to finalize Prophet’s story, and Crysis 4 would imply the story just moves on.”

Although Crytek gives fans the announcement of Crysis 4, we will need to wait for more info. So, are you excited for Crysis 4? The world has been waiting long enough.
