The Expanse Explores New Territory With a Video Game Installment
Until today, The Expanse was “just” a popular television and book series. Telltale Games is making their own version of The Expanse’s world in their signature gaming style, in partnership with Deck Nine. Revealing the title during 2021’s Game Awards, the trailer shows off just how dark things can get.

The Expanse’s world is the future of modern humanity, with colonies established on Mars and the asteroid belt. In the role of Camina Drummer, the player will have to make some tough choices. She and her crew of scavengers will navigate The Belt, where personal conflict, mutiny, and political tensions put lives at stake. Fans of The Expanse can rest easy – this is exactly the sort of environment where Telltale Games thrives.
“The game is going to put you in Drummer’s mag boots, and force you to make all of the ridiculously difficult decisions that, as you know, Drummer grapples with,” Cara Gee said in the announcement. “I have absolutely loved playing the character of Camina Drummer for the past several seasons on The Expanse,” adding, “I’m beyond thrilled to get back into the eye makeup and the dialect, and dive in and just keep exploring this phenomenal, powerful character.”
This reveal coincides with the show’s 6th season, set to release shortly. While the game lacks a formal release date itself, the cross-promotional nature of things can offer a hint. There’s a good chance that the launch will be similarly scheduled, coinciding with another major piece of The Expanse media. We’re definitely not at “Soon” territory yet, but give it some time – and when you hear of anything big happening with this franchise, keep an ear out!
