Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Has 3 Missions Locked Behind Its Premium Edition

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be out on March 18th. Unfortunately, not everyone is going to get full access to its content. Apparently, Square Enix has decided to lock three missions behind the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition.

Pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin to receive three additional missions when they arrive,” the devs confirmed on social media. “These missions will not be available separately.

This announcement suggests that Wanderer of the Rift, Trials of the Dragon King, and Different Future will all only be accessible to fans who pre-order the game’s special edition at $89.99. Moreover, it also confirms that devs are leaving physical owners out in the cold.

The game’s official website has the Digital Deluxe Edition listing. This special version will include a season pass that has the three locked missions. This information is also further corroborated by the listings on the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Store. Both listings include the aforementioned mission titles as part of the season pass.

Through the years, devs have clearly placed more effort on pushing pre-order incentives. Back then, they would give rewards to those who decide to pre-order any edition of the games from any retailer. Now, however, they seemed to have upped the ante. They are now releasing specific game editions that feature exclusive content. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin has now joined this growing roster of digital exclusive bonuses.

At the moment, it remains unclear if the devs are going to add the said missions at a later time. However, there is also the possibility that they will be tied to the game’s premium edition forever. The digital edition of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is available for pre-order now. Apart from the missions, it will also bring a Lustrous shield, two new weapons, early access to the game, its official soundtrack, and its digital artbook.
