Rainbow Six Extraction Devs ‘Tweaked the Operators in Certain Ways’

Rainbow Six Extraction Devs Debated About Which Siege Operators Make the Cut For the New Game

Rainbow Six Extraction devs have just revealed that they had to adapt the game’s Operators from Siege for the new title.

We had to adapt some of the gadgets and abilities to support this play,” said Rainbow Six Extraction’s Creative Director Patrik Methe. “We tried to stay as close as possible to the essence of each Operator that we picked for Extraction.”

Apparently, the team behind Rainbow Six Extraction have been debating about which Operators from Siege were going to make the cut for the game. “We tweaked the Operators in certain ways—sometimes small, sometimes big,” they continued.

The Operators in the Rainbow Six franchise will be facing new enemies when Extraction launches next month. They are shifting from fighting human enemies in Siege to defeating alien foes in Extraction.

After a lot of “heated discussions” they finally were able to finalize their Operator list. “In the end, we feel that we were able to pick the best roster of Operators for a PvE co-op experience,” Methe added.

The game’s final roster has 18 Operators. These include Sledge, Finka, Ela, Smoke, Gridlock, Vigil, Nomad, Pulse, and Lion. They will all be making the jump from Siege to Rainbow Six Extraction.

According to the game’s official website, six more Operators are heading to Extraction. Unfortunately, these new characters have not yet been revealed. Siege characters who have not yet made the cut may still be able to do so. With that said, fans of the franchise may still be able to witness the jump of their favorite Siege character.

Rainbow Six Extraction will be out on January 20, 2022. Fans who pick up the game will immediately get two Buddy Passes. They can uses these passes to get two weeks’ worth of free access to the much-awaited shooter.
