Final Fantasy 14 Devs Suspend Sales to Help Ease Server Congestion

Final Fantasy 14 Sales Are Temporarily Suspended Until Further Notice

Final Fantasy 14 devs have just announced that they are suspending sales  to help ease the game’s server congestion. This issue has been going on since early December. With that said, new players will temporarily not be able to play or purchase the game for an unspecified period of time.

Fans of the game are well aware of these problems since Endwalker’s launch earlier this month. Apparently, for some servers, queues could reach up to tens of thousands.

Players are currently experiencing extremely long wait times due to the dense concentration of play hours which far exceed our server capacity, said Producer Naoki Yoshida. “We have decided to temporarily suspend the sale and delivery of Final Fantasy 14 Starter Edition and Complete Edition.”

Free Trial players are unable to log in outside of late night and early morning hours,” Yoshida continued. “So, we will also temporarily suspend new registrations for the Free Trial.”

Since the launch of Final Fantasy 14’s Endwalker expansion, players have had a lot of trouble logging into the game’s servers. Two weeks after its release, they are still experiencing the same problems. They still get errors and longer queue times whenever they try to log in.

The devs have already previously confirmed that paid players will be getting priority login access over free trial users. They want their existing players to get the chance to get through the new content first, before new players can join in on the fun of this hit MMO.

The sale suspensions will start in the next few days. As of the moment, Final Fantasy 14 is still available on Steam and other retailers. Although this is bad news for new players, Square Enix reassure current players that there is no need for them to worry. They will continue to sell expansions and digital upgrades for the Collector’s Edition for active players.
