Yakuza Developer Has a New Franchise in the Works

Ryu GA Gotoku Studio Also Confirms They Will Focus On the Judgement Series

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the creators of Judgement and the Yakuza series, has announced that they will be coming out with a new franchise. While it was thought that the studio would be focusing on the follow up for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, as previously announced, it seems that Ryu Ga Gotoku has more than one big project on its plate.

Even with the big changes that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has experienced as of late, that has not stopped them from moving forward in a positive direction. Masayoshi Yokoyama himself confirmed that the studio is working on a project not related to Yakuza or Judgement. This is an interesting tidbit, as this means that the studio will not rely solely on either successful series. There’s little known as to what Ryu Ga Gotaku is planning for the newest franchise, just that it is in the works. But too, is the interesting information that comes from the Studio’s commitment to its series, Judgement. “We will continue to cherish the Judgement series,” said Masayoshi Yokoyama in the same interview where he revealed the other game project in the works. With Masayoshi Yokoyama being the writer and producer for the Studio, hearing the current fate of Judgement and the game in progress sounds pretty creditable. So this may mean that Judgement games will continue to be released in the future, no matter that there had been problems in releasing Judgement onto PC. It wasn’t very clear as to why Sega was able to release Judgement onto other consoles, but not onto PCs.

At least we’re not going to lose Judgement, nor other future projects, due to a hiccup behind the scenes.
