Demon Slayer Slashes Onto Switch 2

SEGA has announced that Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing improved performance and visuals to the popular anime fighting game. The new edition takes advantage of Nintendo’s latest hardware, offering a smoother 60FPS framerate and higher-quality visuals compared to the original Switch version.

Players can enjoy the familiar two-player local and online VS Mode, with the added benefit of cross-generation support. This allows Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners to battle against each other, giving more players a chance to join the action.

The digital Standard Edition is available for £34.99 and includes the base game alongside two Character Unlock Keys for Academy Rengoku and Academy Uzui. However, existing Nintendo Switch owners won’t need to purchase the game again. Players who already own The Hinokami Chronicles 2 digitally or physically on the original Switch can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition at no additional cost through a free upgrade pass.

It’s worth mentioning that the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Character Pass isn’t included in the free upgrade and must be purchased separately through the Nintendo eShop.

The launch also marks a major milestone for the franchise, as SEGA confirmed that the combined sales of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles and its sequel have surpassed six million units worldwide.

With improved visuals, smoother gameplay, and a free upgrade for existing owners, the Switch 2 Edition gives fans another reason to jump back into the Demon Slayer universe.
