Roblox Is Suing Youtuber for Harassing Platform

Roblox Is Seeking 1.6 Million in Damages Against a Longtime Banned Player

It appears that Roblox has had enough of one particular Youtuber. A lawsuit was officially filed in the state of California on November 23rd, 2021, against Benjamin “Ruben Sim” Simon. This is not only for the company that it’s making the suit for. Oh no. According to the lawsuit, this is also to protect its young fans against Simon’s actions.

Apparently, Simon, who had been making and profiting from Roblox videos since 2010, has done a number of bad things, according to the allegations of the lawsuit. Simon has reportedly done everything from sexually harassing other players, to trying to upload a picture of Hilter, to far more serious problems such as uploading a sex game on Roblox, where minors could find it, and threatening/taunting a copycat act of terrorism at Roblox headquarters, specifically copying the event of April 3, 2018,  where there had been an active shooter and murder at YouTube headquarters.

The final nail in the coffin, so to speak, was Simon’s reportedly posting about police searching for “Islamic Extremists” and warning not to go to the event. This has led to the “temporarily shut down the Roblox Developers Conference in San Francisco in October.” According to Roblox, the investigation cost $50,000 to “investigate and secure RDC after the incident.”

Surprisingly, this has come after Simon has been banned years ago from Roblox, for “harassing users and using racist and homophobic slurs, as well as for sexual harassment and uploading photos of Adolf Hitler” according to Roblox lawyers. But, Simon has been able to work around this ban by using alternates and fake accounts. All the while, Simon has been taunting and harassing Roblox employees and players alike. Simon currently has about 700,000 accounts subscribed to his Youtube account and makes money for every video uploaded due to his Patreon.

Currently, Simon has not commented on the lawsuit and the allegations entailed.

How this lawsuit may turn out is currently unknown, but does seem that Roblox does have plenty of evidence on the matter of Simon’s actions, possibly by his own hand.
