Bugsnax Is Getting a Free Major Update in Early 2022

Young Horses has confirmed that Bugsnax is getting a major update for absolutely free in early 2022. It will be launched for PS4, PS5, and PC users, and will bring with it a variety of massive prehistoric creatures, all of which were preserved at the bottom of the ocean.

Bugsnax, which is a PlayStation exclusive, is definitely going to get bigger and better in many ways once its Isle of BIGsnax update has been rolled out. It will unlock a new landscape that is overrun with oversized Bugsnax, in addition to adding a set of challenges that Bugsnax players have to complete. There will also be some hut-decorating options on Snaktooth Island, especially now that players can have their very own hut.

“You will need to master new mechanics like the Shrink Spice, which can cut the giant Bugsnax down to a catchable size,” revealed Young Horses Creative Director Kevin Zuhn.

Back in Snaxburg, you will finally have your very own hut!” Zuhn added. “You can take on challenges from your mailbox to earn furniture and accessories to customize your living space.” These new challenges give Bugsnax a new twist in its gameplay, as well as change how players explore and catch the creatures.

One more feature that Bugsnax fans will absolutely love is the added ability to dress up their Bugsnax in various hats.

Scheduled for an early 2022 launch, Bugsnax’s free update will introduce a dozen new Bugsnax species, more than 100 challenges, 30 new quests, as well as around 200 new decorations that players can choose from for customizing their own hut. Since the update will be available at no extra charge, there is no reason not to join in on this monster-hunting fun, as long as the base game is already owned.

Bugsnax has been described as a “narrative-driven adventure game” that seems to be partly inspired by Sony’s Ape Escape. Players will be hunting and catching 100 different species of of creatures that are half-bug and half-snack.
