That’s What Heroes Do
Next month, Marvel’s Avengers launches its third major expansion. War For Wakanda will introduce Black Panther and the jungle biome of Wakanda. In the past few months, there have also been smaller events and updates, trying to keep players around.
As you may well know, Marvel’s Avengers also has a ton of cosmetics available for players to buy with in-game currencies. There are almost endless options for Crystal Dynamics to draw from with a historic catalog of comic books, as well as the MCU films.
There have already been several costumes in Marvel’s Avengers inspired by the MCU. Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Black Widow have costumes from Avengers: Endgame. Black Widow also has a second outfit from her solo movie. Now, it is Thor’s turn. Today, Thor’s outfit from the latter half of Infinity War and the beginning of Endgame is available in the marketplace.
Not to burst anyone’s bubble, but the outfit in question is not Fat Thor, as much as we love him. The new Avengers: Endgame cosmetic is what Thor wears for all of three minutes in the film, but it looks good.
It does not look exactly like Chris Hemsworth. While this Thor has short hair, he has a bushier beard like his video game counterpart. Unlike the movies, while wearing this armor, Thor still wields Mjölnir instead of Stormbreaker.
Unfortunately the Marvel’s Avengers, cosmetics like this just are not enough to keep players engaged, especially when they have to shell out real cash for the premium currency it requires. Marvel’s Avengers is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
