A Plague Tale: Innocence Next-Gen Upgrade Coming Next Month

Rodents of Unusual Resolution

Focus Home Interactive and Asobo Studios gave us some wonderful news at E3 last week. The follow-up to the 2019 hit A Plague Tale: Innocence would be coming out in 2022. A Plague Tale: Requiem will be continuing the story of Amicia and her brother Hugo, and continuing the threat of the plague rats that ravage the French countryside. We still have a while before we are playing Requiem, but if you are wanting to jump back into the world of A Plague Tale, we have some news. Nice, shiny news.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

A free next-gen upgrade (is it next-gen or current-gen at this point?) will be made available next month for owners of A Plague Tale: Innocence. As someone who has played the game kind of recently on Xbox One, do not pass this up, especially if you have not yet played the game. The upgrade specifications include 4K/60 fps on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. A Plague Tale: Innocence will also be made available on Nintendo Switch via cloud gaming alongside the release of the next-gen upgrade.

Subscribers of PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass will be pleased to know that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will be offered on these services. The Xbox One version is already available on Game Pass will be upgraded for Xbox Series X|S, but there was also a leak of next month’s PlayStation Plus games that mentioned A Plague Tale: Innocence remastered version, which had not yet been confirmed. A Plague Tale: Innocence is out now for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, and will be available on July 6th for Nintendo Switch and optimized for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
