Prepare to Be Scared
Resident Evil: Village drops next month, and there’s a lot of reason to be excited for the biggest game in the series so far. Just one of those reasons is the Maiden demo, which showcased the graphics. Although exclusive to the PS5 the demo is dripping with atmosphere, and can easily make a claim to be one of the most visually stunning survival horror games of all time.
Still, we do know that we’re getting another demo that will showcase the gameplay on a deeper level. This demo will be available on all platforms, and while we don’t have the details quite yet, we do know some of the demo’s specs thanks to a new leak.
First of all, size: The demo will clock in at 10 GB, which is pretty hefty for a demo – especially since it’s been reported that you need 50 GB to install the whole game. Of course, that’s not to say that the game will only be five times the length of the demo – we’ve already written that the game will likely be the biggest in the series so far.
The leaks consist of four region-specific SKU’s for Europe, the U.S, Asia, and Japan – all of which (Apart from Japan, where the series uses the Biohazard moniker) titled Resident Evil Village Gameplay Demo. Also leaked are some control details pointing towards remote play using the PlayStation Vita.
With Village dropping next month it’s likely that a release is imminent, as this will give players plenty of time to dissect the demo. It’s also possible that, like Resident Evil 7, this demo will give players the chance to earn a bonus in the full game – and considering Ethan is going up against a bigger threat than he’s ever faced before, he’ll need all the help he can get.
