PlayStation Store Removing Cyberpunk 2077

SIE Takes Bold Stance on Cyberpunk 2077

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially stated that they will be offering full refunds for gamers who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 through the PlayStation Store. In addition to this refund offer, SIE will be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store until further notice. This is an unprecedented move for such a big title to be removed from the PlayStation Store so shortly after launch, but gamers who are looking for a full refund and purchased the game on the PlayStation Store are entitled to it. Cyberpunk 2077 is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC right now.

“SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store,” said an official statement from PlayStation. “SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice. Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.”

Greg Miller quickly took to Twitter to express his shock, stating simply “like, FOR REAL, holy f***ing shit.” Miller’s co-host at Kinda Funny, Imran Khan also chimed in on Cyberpunk 2077’s removal from the PlayStation Store, saying “well… Microsoft won the console wars Cyberpunk 2077 is currently a timed Xbox exclusive.” While this is an unprecedented move with Cyberpunk 2077 being removed from the PlayStation Store, it’s practically assured to return after some patches. In the meantime, PS4 owners who didn’t get their hands on Cyberpunk 2077 in time will have to wait until it returns.
